Kansas State Historical Society seeks buildings before Statehood

Very interesting article on the Kansas State Historical Society.  In terms of Genelaogy this could be a fun project as well.  Maybe your Kansas ancestors had a hand in building and constructing these buildings or providing supplies or resources for these buildings as well.

Kansas Historical Society seeks structures built before statehood

LAWRENCE | The Kansas Historical Society is asking the public to help identify buildings constructed in 1861 and earlier.
The Lawrence Journal-World reports the project is part of the Historical Society's commemoration of the 150th anniversary of the year Kansas became a state.
Historical Society officials are document such early buildings as part of a larger study of the state's vernacular architecture — a term for construction methods based on locally available resources and traditions.
Buildings can be recommended for the study by calling the Historical Society at 785-272-8681 or sending an email to survey@kshs.org
